The Schematic Design Phase includes: reviewing the program to ascertain the requirements of the project; providing a preliminary evaluation of the program and the project budget; reviewing alternative approaches to design and construction of the project; and preparation of Schematic Design Documents consisting of drawings and other documents illustrating the scale and relationship of project components. A preliminary estimated construction budget is also prepared during this phase.
